[Continue from Tsukiji Fish Market post] After walking around the Tsukiji Fish Market (築地市場), we decided to settle for a sushi brunch and there are quite a number of well-known Sushi restaurants or street stalls selling all kind of assorted sushi, sashimi and etc too. Before my trip to Japan, I have saw some clips and introductions about this famous fish market from a few Japanese sightseeing programmes on television. So when uncles marked down a day to visit Tsukiji fish market we were pretty excited to see their wholesale seafood market as well as a chance to sample their freshly made sushi.
After roaming a round to find a place which could occupy the 11 of us, we decided to settle our lunch at one of the recommended sushi restaurant known as 築地寿司清本店. Although they have 2 outlets (main and subsidiary) along the same street with two story dinning area, we still had to wait around 30 minutes before we could get our seats.
The interior of the restaurant was rather packed and narrow where the seats are pretty close to each other giving you a squeezes feel.
The Takumi Set consists of 11 items such as Toro, Sea Bream, Red Tuna, Squid, Mackerel, Red Shrimp, Herring Roe, Salmon Roe, Sea Urchin, Eel and Egg Omelette. It was such a blessing to enjoy a platter like this with tuna that just melts in your mouth, mackerel which is so fresh that it's not fishy all and most of the items taste great and rich in flavor too.
Tamago sushi is one of my boy's favourite. He just simply loves this even though it might not be worth spending SG$4.00+ to have this in Japan.
Oh my! I have weakness when it comes to Salmon. I simply love anything related to salmon like Salmon Nigiri, Salmon Sashimi, Salmon Belly and etc. So for this Japan trip it definitely satisfied my tummy with all those fresh and mouthwatering salmon.
